The crab on our Bamboo Cutlery packaging is inspired by a very famous hermit crab!

After reading the pivotal edition on National Geographic ‘Planet or Plastic?’ I knew I had to use the powerful photographs to inspire our packaging. There has been lots of news of various Hermit Crabs across the world adopting plastic to shelter them. This is a very real sign that the unnatural is beginning to outweigh the natural in our once pristine coastlines around the globe.

This birthed Terry the crab from my imagination, who found himself without any pincers, so adopted what he had to hand! (get it?) Terry lives in a world surrounded by plastic, just like the animals featured in National Geographic, they are affected by it every day.

Terry is not a real crab, but the hermit crabs across the world are, if a Hermit Crab cant find a shell on the beach to live in, how will that beach look?
